Our Georgian dining room is both relaxed and stylish, with an eclectic mix of traditional oak tables (including Granny Todd’s) and chairs, set on original, fully restored, boards. The quality of food and menus at the Frenchgate reflect the passion and enthusiasm of all the staff. Care is taken to source ingredients locally wherever possible and all our food is freshly prepared to order. Maybe start with a new take on the classic “Surf n Turf” combining crispy pulled pork, tempura king prawn with chefs own recipe black pudding, or a plate of fresh dressed Whitby white crab, blood orange, samphire and smoked paprika shellfish cracker. Maybe a roast breast of locally reared Guinea Fowl, asparagus, wild mushroom and pecorino, or a chargrilled dry-aged Yorkshire ribeye with triple cooked chips cooked to perfection, fresh Halibut, Stone Bass or one of our delicious vegetarian options.
